Spell Herbs Information

Here I have listed a variety of herbs and their properties that I offer in spell kits. This is by no means an exhaustive list of magical properties and uses! Plant spirits are complex and diverse. Listed here is just part of my experience with them :)

Please use this list as a reference for your spell kit or otherwise in your practice.

Angelica Root- amazing defense against negative energy, and is often used in hex-breaking and curse breaking baths and spells. It is wonderful for cleansing heavy energy.

Catnip- a playful herb used in attraction spells, either for love, money or opportunities. Think about how cats react to catnip. Use this herb and the energy you are looking to attract won't be able to get enough of you!

Chamomile- a flower that looks like the sun is used to soothe anxiety, bring healing and calmness, brighten moods, help alleviate sadness and grief, and bring optimism.

Cinnamon- an aromatic bark that is popularly used to welcome prosperity, attract good fortune, open roads, promote lust and love, and in protection spells.

Clove- strong plant spirit used in domination spells where you wish to gain control in a situation. Use cloves for love, money, protection, and to stop gossip or slander being spoken against you.

Coffee- great for quickening manifestations and other spell work. Often used in money and protection spells as well.

Damiana- a strongly aromatic herb used in magic for love, lust, sensual and sexual magic, psychic visions, and attraction. It is also commonly used in fertility spells. This plant spirit is bold and useful in spells where you wish to feel in control of yourself or the center or attention.

Heather- a flowering shrub used in spells for confidence, asserting and maintaining boundaries, and spells for self worth.

Hyssop- an amazing emotional healer. This herb is used of cleansing and banishing, removing even the heaviest of energies and emotions from your spirit. Works amazingly with Angelica Root or by itself for hex-breaking and cleansing.

Jasmine- great for intuition, dream work, love, self love, spiritual development, and working with the moon. Excellent to use for deep, unconditional love.

Lavender- a versatile flower used for cleansing, easing anxiety, grounding in spells, psychic connection, love spells, protection, and beauty.

Mint- great for attracting money and opportunities, as it grows wildly and tends to take over what is next to it. It is also helpful to stay mentally sharp and remember dreams and intuitive messages.

Mugwort- a common weed that has long been used in dream magic and psychic work. It is great for visions and connecting to your subconscious mind. Often used in shadow work and for psychic protection as well. Associated with the moon.

Mullein- an herb associated with the moon. Medicinally it is used as an expectorant, so I personally associate it with shadow work and helping you heal and connect with the subconscious.

Orange- a great fruit to use for cleansing, brightening moods, attracting prosperity, granting success, and revealing hidden truths.

Rose- a versatile flower used in magic for romance, love, beauty, passion, protection in relationships and elsewhere (think of her thorns!), self-love spells, boundary setting, and offerings to love deities.

Rosemary- has been used for centuries to ward against evil and sickness. It has been traditionally used in exorcisms, making it a powerful herb for cleansing, banishing, and protection. It is also useful for memory and therefore helps in spells where you are wishing for clear communication or to remember a dream.

Yarrow- a healing flower is has been used in divination, psychic work, healing, and spells used for seeking clarity either on a situation or in regards to an emotional or psychic download.
